As we go through life we may seek things outside ourselves to fill a void, that only can come from within. We may look to others for love, fulfillment, or validation. The more we seek these external validations, the more we are left with an emptiness inside. Our identity, self-worth, and love are found in God. The love you are seeking will be found once you recognize your self-worth in him. People may fail you, but God's love for you will never fail. “The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.” Jeremiah 31:3
God's love is unchanging, firm, unshakable, and steadfast. His love is like no other you cannot buy or earn God's love. God loves us, not because of who we are, but because of who he is. God is love. Even in our sins, God gave us his greatest gift his son Jesus. "But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
Our shortcomings or mistakes do not change the very nature of God. "For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations." Psalm 100:5
People may love you conditional, temporarily, or seasonal, but God's love is everlasting. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. " I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39 May we continue to reflect on the goodness of the LORD and all that he has done for us. Let us reign with hearts of gratitude that God's love is eternal, boundless, and never changing.
